Lusaka City FC technical advisor becomes the latest candidate in the race to lead the nine-time Zambian champions.
Portuguese coach Luís Bragança has emerged as a strong contender for the vacant Zesco United head coach position after undergoing an interview for the role.
Bragança currently serves as the technical advisor at Lusaka City FC, having taken up the position in May. His coaching résumé includes a spell with Portuguese semi-professional outfit SC Vila Real, while he has also gained experience working in Asia.
The Portuguese tactician holds CONMEBOL Pro and A Licences, in addition to UEFA B and UEFA C coaching qualifications.
Beyond coaching, Bragança has built experience as a scout and match analyst, with previous assignments in Congo-Brazzaville and Equatorial Guinea.
Zesco United have intensified their search for a new head coach following the departure of Emmanuel Siwale, with the club interviewing both local and foreign candidates as they seek a manager capable of restoring the club’s domestic dominance and improving its performances in CAF inter-club competitions.
Bragança becomes the second foreign coach confirmed to have been interviewed for the position after former Liverpool Football Academy Cyprus director Andreas Vrakas.
The Ndola giants are yet to announce who will take charge of the team ahead of the new season, with the recruitment process still ongoing.
