Nkana Football Club have appointed club legend Ronald “Sate Sate” Kampamba as their new strikers coach, with the former Kalampa forward returning to the club in a technical capacity ahead of the 2026 transitional MTN Super League season.
The appointment marks a new chapter for Kampamba, who enjoyed a memorable playing career at Nkana and remains one of the club’s most celebrated forwards. His return is part of the club’s broader strategy of preserving its rich football heritage by integrating former players into the technical team.
In a statement announcing the appointment, Nkana highlighted Kampamba’s legacy and the value he brings to the coaching staff.
“A familiar face to the Nkana faithful, Kampamba transitions from the pitch to the technical bench after a distinguished playing career that saw him become one of the club’s most admired forwards,” the club said.
Working Alongside Elijah Tana
Kampamba will join head coach Elijah Tana’s technical bench, where he will focus on improving the club’s attacking unit and helping the strikers become more clinical in front of goal.
“Known for his clinical finishing, tireless work ethic and leadership on the field, Kampamba will now be tasked with helping develop the club’s attacking players, working closely with Coach Elijah Tana and the rest of the technical team to sharpen the team’s goalscoring edge,” the statement added.
Experience to Develop the Next Generation
Nkana believe Kampamba’s vast experience at the highest level of Zambian football will play a vital role in mentoring both established forwards and emerging young talents as the club prepares for the new campaign.
“His wealth of experience, gained over many years at the highest level of Zambian football, is expected to play a key role in mentoring both established forwards and emerging young talent as Nkana FC prepares for the 2026 transitional season.”
With the appointment, the Kitwe giants continue to strengthen their technical department as they aim to bounce back from a difficult campaign and challenge for honours during the upcoming transitional season.
