Football scout and player agent Chiti Chitundu believes Andrew Phiri has what it takes to rediscover his best form after completing a move to MTN Super League side Nchanga Rangers.
The former MUZA forward has joined the Chingola-based club after difficult spells in Tanzania and Zimbabwe, where he struggled to make the desired impact. Once regarded as one of Zambia’s brightest attacking prospects, Phiri will now be hoping to relaunch his career with the Rangers.
Chitundu believes the move presents the perfect opportunity for the striker to rebuild his confidence and return to the level that once made him one of the country’s most exciting talents.
“I am happy Andrew has found a new home at Nchanga Rangers. He is a talented player who only needs confidence and regular game time to return to his best,” Chitundu said.
The player agent stressed that Phiri’s ability has never been in question, urging the forward to remain disciplined and committed as he begins a new chapter.
“People have seen what Andrew is capable of before. Football has its ups and downs, but this is a fresh start for him. I hope he grabs it with both hands because the quality has never been in doubt.
“He must stay disciplined, listen to the coaches and keep working hard. If he does that, I have no doubt he will rediscover his form and become an important player for Nchanga Rangers,” he added.
Chitundu also encouraged Nchanga Rangers to provide the right environment for the striker to thrive, saying belief from the club could play a key role in helping Phiri regain his confidence.
“Nchanga Rangers have given him an opportunity and I believe they will get the best out of him. Sometimes all a player needs is a club that believes in him,” Chitundu said.
Phiri will be aiming to repay that faith when the 2026/27 MTN Super League Transitional League season gets underway, as Nchanga Rangers look to strengthen their squad for the new campaign.
