Kansanshi Dynamos head coach Dennis Makinka has expressed satisfaction with his squad’s condition and attitude as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 Transitional League campaign.
The Solwezi-based club has resumed pre-season training under Makinka, who recently took charge following the departure of Egyptian coach Mohamed Fathi. The former Nkwazi boss is aiming to guide Kansanshi Dynamos to a stronger campaign after taking over the reins.
Makinka praised the players for returning from the off-season in impressive physical condition, revealing that the squad has exceeded his expectations during the opening training sessions.
“In a long time I have not seen a team come back from recess looking so good. In the first session they were already at about 50 to 60 percent fitness, which is a very good sign for the team,” he said.
The coach also commended the players for maintaining their fitness away from the club, describing their commitment as a positive indication ahead of the new season.
“They didn’t just go and sleep. I’m sure they continued doing a few exercises during the break, and that is very encouraging,” Makinka added.
Makinka further praised the mentality within the squad, saying the players have shown a strong desire to work hard and improve.
“This is a very good group of boys who are eager to work for the team,” he said.
Kansanshi Dynamos will be hoping the encouraging start to pre-season preparations lays the foundation for a successful 2026/27 Transitional League campaign under their new head coach.
