Chipolopolo midfielder Wilson Chisala has bid an emotional farewell to Zanaco as he closes in on a move to MTN Super League champions Power Dynamos.
The midfielder shared a heartfelt message on Monday, bringing an end to a memorable four-year spell at Sunset Stadium, where he established himself as one of the club’s key players.
In his farewell statement, Chisala thanked Zanaco’s management, coaches, teammates and supporters for the unwavering support they showed him throughout his time at the club.
“After four unforgettable seasons, the time has come for me to say goodbye. Leaving this club is not easy because it has been more than just a team—it has been my home, my family and a place where I have grown both as a footballer and as a person,” Chisala said.
The Chipolopolo midfielder expressed his appreciation to the club’s leadership for giving him the opportunity to represent Zanaco.
“I want to express my deepest appreciation to the club’s management for believing in me and trusting me to wear this badge with pride.”
He also paid tribute to the coaching staff for helping him develop both professionally and personally.
“Thank you to the coaches and technical staff for your guidance, encouragement and commitment to helping me become a better player every single day.”
Chisala reserved special praise for his teammates and the club’s supporters, describing the bonds he built during his stay as memories he will cherish throughout his career.
“Although this chapter is coming to an end, the memories and experiences I have gained here will stay with me forever. I leave with nothing but respect, gratitude and love for this club, and I sincerely wish everyone continued success in the seasons ahead.”
While Chisala has yet to officially announce his next destination, the Zambia international is strongly expected to join Power Dynamos, with sources indicating that negotiations are in the final stages.
Should the move be completed, the talented midfielder will strengthen the reigning MTN Super League champions as they prepare to defend their domestic title and compete in continental football next season.
